Framingham, MA Project

Ann & Sean’s back foyer/laundry room was also redesigned into a mudroom. The new plan included a bench seat for removing & putting on shoes/boots with open storage below, a clothes rod for coats, hooks for backpacks and such, as well as baskets and enclosed cabinets.

Last, but certainly not least, was the renovation of the existing family room. Formerly a long narrow space, the new family room was made to feel more inviting with the addition of new windows above a new window seat, TV cabinet, and bookcases.

"We felt comfortable working with The Kitchen Center based on past experience, but also because they gave us a very detailed estimate for the work that was planned. We were then able to make decisions about what was most important to us and were confident that we could stay within budget. Throughout the process, the staff was available and very responsive. In a project this size, there are always unexpected things that come up and they dealt with each one very professionally. Despite many remodeling horror stories, our project went very smoothly and we are quite happy with the results.

"This project represents the type of challenge I really enjoy. The clients' ideas and our designs completely transformed the first floor of their home. Their home is so much larger, yet still cozy, and the kitchen functions very well for their lifestyle."

–Brian Forestal, Project Manager

The entire first floor is made to feel larger and more cohesive by removing part of the wall separating the dining room and kitchen.

Natural wood cabinets and granite countertops give the new kitchen warmth. The new mudroom can be seen through the entryway in the background

The family room has been dramatically improved with the addition of new windows and built-ins.
